Tour de Georgia - Stops 1 & 2

Let me start by saying that I have done a TERRIBLE job keeping the camera handy this trip. I think that in surviving the last week I lost part of my brain that I just might not get back. Anyhow, we are visiting family on our Tour de Georgia, as I like to call it, for Thanksgiving.

First stop was with my Dad and his side of the family where we got to visit him, my stepmom Darlene, my sisters DeLanna and Destini, and my Granny and Papa. Unfortunately I didn't take a SINGLE photo at this stop :(. I guess it's because we didn't do anything really eventful, except eat and catch up for an evening and the next day. This was actually perfect because with the busy week we had plus the travel, it was nice to just relax and enjoy each other's company around great food.

Stop number two on our tour was at my Mom and Tim's. Here we got to see them, my brother Jonathon, and Grandmother and  Dennis. We missed you, Anthony and Leah! Since we wouldn't be seeing them on Thanksgiving day (we try our best to rotate families for the holidays) we had Thanksgiving dinner on Monday night. We had all of our Thanksgiving favorites, including a FANTASTIC fried turkey by Tim. Again, bad at taking photos, so I didn't get any of Mom, Tim, or Dennis, :/ but here are the few that I did steal off of Grandmother's camea before she left :)...

First Thanksgiving as a family of three!

Cutie Pie                           Emma with my lovely Grandmother

"I LOVE your necklace, Grandmother!"
[We might be in trouble with this girl - she is always going for the bling!]

The spread. We ate 'til we were stuffed then went back for seconds. It was awesome.

Emma also LOVES her Uncle Johnny

As any kid these days, Emma would much prefer to play with any piece of technology rather than any of her toys. She is going to know more about tablets and phones than any baby should!

We are thankful for our families and the opportunity to travel to see them!
Love you ALL!

Athens, I Love You - Part 2

Oh my - here we are again and it's been another week with no posts! As soon as I think that life couldn't possibly get any more hectic or crazy, it does just that. I really thought that last week would surely be the death of me due to all of the preparation that needed to be done - both on the home front and for work - to be out of town for a whole week for Thanksgiving + Emma's 2nd tooth broke through + nursing strike + she also came down with a virus of some sort = no sleep (again) & not enough hours in the day to get everything done. I don't know why I do this to myself, I mean, I'M the one that plans all of the events for our restaurant! I should really learn to merge my work calendar with my personal one because it was REALLY hard to get everything together for the 10 million things we have going on right now at work, plus get everything at home done. BUT we made it out alive and have surpassed the worst of Emma's first sickness, we hope. And because of my OCD side, I feel like I have to post things in order, so I'm going back to our trip to Athens two weeks ago to finish up...

SO, after our fun at our old Chick-fil-A home, we went to tailgate for as long as the babies would allow. Not too long after arriving Isaac had the first meltdown, with Emma following shortly behind. Which was not surprising seeing that we'd been out for several hours and she hadn't slept at all. But we did manage to snap a few photos while we were out...

Sweet sleepin' boy, with his hair all spiked!

You can't tell, but there is a TV with satelite hooked up in the back of someone's car for the guys to watch all of the early games. Now that's REAL tailgating!

Begin meltdown.

After the tailgate we went back to Irene's parents to let the babies rest and watch the game. Well, I guess we'll be honest - James watched the game and we girls caught up, doted over baby Issac, and took photos:

So precious! Hard to remember when Emma was that small, even though it was just a few months ago!

It had been a LOOOONG day!

My best ladies!

After the game was over we picked up the guys and went to dinner:

Love my girls!

Sunday we woke up and leisurly headed out of town, but before we left Chris had to stop so we could snap a few photos of our future Bulldog :)...

(Didn't feel to confident about her sitting up there on her own)

One last shot of downtown Athens. We LOVE Athens and hope to be able to return in years to come for this fun tradition. It is always good to get back home. GOOOOO DAWGS!

Athens, I Love You - Part One

Last weekend we took a trip back to our college home for Homecoming - our
Chick-fil-A Family Homecoming, that is. We started this tradition last year as a way for all of us who lived and worked together for our college years to get back to our second home and see each other. It just happened to be on UGA Homecoming weekend both years!

The first night we were there, we went to dinner with our Chick-fil-A "Dad", Shane, who we all worked for back in the day. He is one of the reasons that we have all made it to where we are today in our careers with Chick-fil-A and has become over the years a great mentor and friend. This year was the skeleton crew, as we were missing several "family members" for various reasons, so dinner Friday night was literally family, with us plus my brother- and sister-in-law.

Emma with "Uncle" Shane - He's not quite ready to be a Grandpa :)

Despite being out WAY past her bedtime, Emma was a champ! Thanks to entertainment from Uncle Shane and Aunt Irene

It was absolutely lovely to be back in Bulldog Country! Living in the land of bright orange really takes its toll :). It is so funny how people rally together around college football in the south. On game weekends no one wearing red and black is a stranger and there's something about seeing that Georgia "G" that just stirs up all kinds of excitement in me! Naturally, we just HAD to dress Emma up as a little Georgia cheerleader. As I told my Mom, we have been dreaming of dressing our baby up in UGA ever since we left there! And I must say, she was the most ADORABLE cheerleader ever...

We met Michele, James and their new addition, Isaac, at our Chick-fil-A home for breakfast so that we could mingle with the crew that we once worked with. Well, some of them anyway. Every time we visit there are more and more faces that we do not recognize! But it was great to see the few that we did...

Emma LOVED everyone's nametag. Go for the shiny metal - that's my girl!

Emma was enthralled by baby Isaac! She squealed at him, wanted to touch him, then pulled his hair. Poor baby. She's gonna be THAT kid at school, LOL. It was so cute to see her with him!

This one of us is my FAVORITE from the weekend, I think! We FINALLY caught that elusive smile!

I could just eat those cheeks! Sweet boy.

Love this one of Irene and Isaac, too. Emma is after the nametag again...we'll have to make her one of her own!

Emma loves her Uncle Daniel!

Family with Sully

Family with Shane
[Had no idea that Emma was wearing her hairbow gangster style, LOL]

So that turned out to be way more photos that I was thinking! We'll have to post the rest tomorrow. There's a few from the tailgate, some of us girls, everyone out to dinner and a few from around town to come!
